Artist Bio

Rae utilizes techniques from painting, printmaking, and collage to reflect elements of nature and the human experience. She is interested in antique objects and how they might reveal memories and the passage of time. She often pairs antique objects and frames with her artwork to further integrate themes of time, decay, and erosion.

Rae grew up in East Tennessee, around 10 minutes from the Appalachian Trail. In 2018 she moved to Knoxville to get her BFA from the  University of Tennessee in painting and drawing. She has experience as a curator as well as in gallery management and installation. Her work has been shown in a number of exhibitions in the Knoxville, Tri-Cities and Nashville areas.
